The Process Workshop Recap (Film/Digital Hybrid Photography Workshop in Nashville, TN)

I had the opportunity last November to attend a workshop with some truly amazing people headlining. People like Julie Paisley, Jeremy Chou, Michael & Carina, and Lauren Fair were all there to encourage us to shoot film more often and how to incorporate it into our wedding businesses. While there, I had the opportunity to shoot four completely different styled shoots, but first I wanted to show you a little behind the scenes moments at the workshop.

Day 1

I arrived at the Historic Cedarwood in Nashville, TN and am stopped in my tracks with this gorgeous venue! Cedarwood is a truly amazing venue because they do all of their own styling and flower arranging in house.

When we found our seat, we were greeted by these cute boxes with a lot of fun nods to Nashville in them. Jack and Coke in a mason jar, anyone?

Welcome from Julie, Jeremy, and Lauren!

There were a ton of amazing speakers at the workshop. First up was Brianna Venzke with Palm & Co talking about the importance of branding.

Next up was Liz Greene, editor at Style me Pretty. With a room full of wedding photographers dying to get published with them, you know we were all ears!

Last up for the day was Belinda Olsen from The Find Lab. She was so informative and knew so much about working with film!

And the food from Chef Christopher’s was soooo good! They really did a great job with all of the southern staples!

Day 2

Every day of the workshop, we were greeted with new floral arrangements, gifts, and lots of photo opportunities! Day 2 brought us more speakers and two styled shoots with Jeremy and Lauren.

Julie spoke about being authentic with your clients, loving on them, and being true to yourself within your business.

The ladies from Dear Gray Magazine spoke about what they look for with their submissions and how to stand out from the pack.

Michael talked about how he books his destination weddings and makes money while traveling.

What’s a workshop without a little competition? The speakers challenged us to stretch our creative muscle and create an invitation flat lay with some gorgeous invitation suites by Designs In Paper and ribbon from Honey Silks & Co.

Mine was a nod to fall; what do you think?

And now, styled shoot time with Jeremy Chou.

And a styled shoot with Lauren Fair.

When you all want “the shot”…

Day 3

The last day of anything is always bittersweet, but we didn’t have time to focus on that! Let’s get this learning started!

Styled shoot time with Julie Paisley.

Styled shoot time with Michael.

These people were such a joy to be around! They stretched my creative muscle and really made me dive into my business and look at it from way down deep. Thank you for all of your guidance!
